Very poor attitude, Be wary of the salesmen in Limerick. Was purchasing a car back on January, very poor attitude by one individual, for privacy of the individual, Mr R. He was pleasant at first and then he turned when a deal goes naturally fizzles out. I bought the car in Shiels in Ennis, I personally found them lovely.

So this is a long story. The service I received from Sheils Motor Group was atrocious to say the least. I booked my MG in for a full service, and the earliest appointment available was three weeks away. About a week before the appointment, a check engine light appeared on the dashboard. I rang the service team and explained the issue in detail. I was assured that it would be looked at and resolved during the service. On the day of the appointment, I dropped the car off. Eight hours later I was told the car was ready. However, five minutes after leaving the dealership, the check engine light came back on. When I got home I rang the service department. The person who answered told me they had not been informed about the issue, which is simply not true as I had already called ahead about it. It appears the fault code may simply have been cleared rather than properly diagnosed, as the light disappeared briefly but immediately returned. I was then given another appointment two weeks later. Three days ago I left the car with them again. Over the phone on the first day they said they were waiting on a part and the car would be ready the next day. On the second day, when we rang again, we were told their technician had taken the car home to see if the check engine light came back on. Today we collected the car and were told the part had not actually arrived, and that we would need to wait another two weeks for a call. To make matters worse, when I opened the boot there was someone’s lunch left inside the car. The engine light is still on, the issue has not been resolved, and communication throughout the process has been extremely poor. This is a 251-registered car purchased last year, and this level of service is completely unacceptable. Honestly, I would not recommend anyone go through this experience. If it were possible to leave 0 stars, I would.

Took my Ford into the service department with a concern about the brakes, the staff said they tested the brakes and they worked fine!! I’ve been worried about the brakes for years and finally found an independent contractor out in Kilkishen Clare to test the brakes today, Roman auto repairs, he is so concerned for my safety that he will not allow the jeep to go on the road! He is calling Ford head service department in Dublin tomorrow morning about the issue. Very incompetent service in Sheils limerick, my jeep has been very dangerous and a high safety risk for many years. Ford Ireland will be hearing of this issue now too.

Made an appointment in autumn. Turned up at the specific day/time. There was no sales person on the floor (fair enough if was early Monday but still, I'd made an appointment). I walked into an office, guy helped me but didn't bother to get any sales person. He did show me the display model, said I could test drive and then walked off. Maybe he thought I was a time waster (I wasn't, I've since bought a car in the next shop I went to) . I ended up trying to open the boot myself on the display, a different guy waking by saw me struggle and helped. I asked him a question and he goes sorry I'm just a mechanic. I left after that. As a female it's daunting enough buying a car on your own but I'd hoped to have been taken seriously.

Absolutely recommend Sheils to anyone looking for a new car! Had the pleasure of dealing with Dave Hurley who was so informative, helpful and honest. He made the whole process so easy for us and gave great objective advice. A total gentleman! Will definitely go back there in the future
