I brought my 2008 Audi A3 Cabriolet to this garage because the tailgate and some of the doors were not locking automatically. The car had no other issues when I left it with them. What happened afterwards was extremely disappointing: • The driver-side door loom/connector was damaged, even though it was working before their inspection. • The tailgate wiring was left hanging outside, with one cable completely broken. • Because of this, the car later triggered a fault when trying to operate the convertible roof, something that had never happened before. • They also tried to return the car with a broken window mechanism, and only after insisting did they put it back together. • I was charged €272, yet the original issue was not fixed, and the car was returned in worse condition than when I brought it in. • I was quoted €1,100 for a tailgate repair — far above normal market rates. When I declined, the car was simply left partially disassembled. • When I asked for a refund due to the additional damage, I was ignored completely. I expected professional workmanship and basic responsibility. Instead, my car came back with new faults, broken wiring and more problems than it arrived with. They didn’t just fail to fix the issue — they left my vehicle in a condition no customer should ever receive. They practically ruined my car. Don’t go there. Never ever
I’m disappointed to leave this review, as I was a regular customer of this garage for several years. Unfortunately, my experience over the last two years has left me feeling badly let down. The first issue was when the wrong battery was fitted to my VW Passat. While mistakes can happen, I expected better attention to detail and a more professional resolution. More recently, I had an extensive clutch repair carried out, only for the clutch to fail after just 18 months. Concerned about how such a significant repair could fail so soon, I calmly visited the garage and spoke with a member of staff, asking if Darren, the owner, could call me back to provide some professional advice and explain how this might have happened. Despite my request, I never received any call back or follow-up communication. As a loyal customer, I found this particularly disappointing. I wasn’t looking for an argument—just some guidance and customer service regarding a costly repair that had failed unexpectedly. In the end, I took my vehicle to another nearby garage, where I was treated professionally and the issue was dealt with diligently. It’s unfortunate because I had trusted this garage with my vehicles for years, but the combination of repeated issues and the lack of communication when I needed support left me unable to recommend them, I would strongly advise anyone to reconsider their options when dealing with this garage.
Booked car in for a service (a 2011 Toyota Auris). Friendly staff working phone/desk. Cost of service was reasonable ~€200 and quality of the service from a diagnostic perspective was good. Multiple issues were identified including: - Spark plugs needed replacing - Front/rear brake discs/pads and brake fluid needed replacing - Water pump was leaking and needed replacement - Front and rear wipers due replacement - Advised replacing battery as was “incorrect battery for car and loose fitting” - New pollen filter I was quoted €2040 for above work. I Went to another mechanic for second opinion who couldn’t believe the price quoted. Got all of the above done for €950 and the loose battery was easily secured without needing replacement. Overall extortionate pricing and short-sighted given word of mouth spreads fast.
Arrived to the garage late today after being to a few other places who refused to help me without even looking. Chanced my arm in Malahide autos and the guy was so nice and helped me straight away, fixed the problem and gave me great advice also, other places tried to send me to a dealership etc. Delighted with this place and will definitely go there in future! Thanks again guys !
I left them my car for service, after completion I got a call saying that my car will need some amends valued in 1600€. Once I arrived there for collecting the car, nobody was there to explain me why these works where required, I had to ask and find out who could tell me. It turned out that, the total in fact was 3700€ in different items, obviously I did not agree on these works until a 2nd opinion. So I brought the car to another place that did not see the same works as required (for example, the break pads I had been quoted for replacing them 255€, when they are far from needing replacing). Also, they quote me for replacing the timing belt for 200€ less than Malahide Autos. I would not recommend this place at all. Rude service and advising works only to get money, not real needs of the car.
