4th time buying a car from Hertz and I’ve previously had great experiences with them. However this time it was a nightmare. Constantly saying different prices/numbers to me throughout the process. I reserved the car online for 100€ I don’t know where that money has gone if I will be refunded or it was put into my car deal. They didn’t seem to know either when I asked. I was made buy it from Cork branch when I am based in Dublin which made it more difficult than it had to be. I found the entire experience stressful and upsetting. I felt I was annoying the salesperson (Gavin- Cork) rather than being looked after. Nothing was clear throughout the process. Deposit prices constantly changing. I’m still confused about the numbers as nothing was made clear/ explained to me as they would have previously. I definitely made mistakes in the process not checking everything properly as I had such amazing experiences before with them. I had to cancel one agreement as the repayments were much higher than we had discussed/agreed on. This made it difficult for me to get another financial agreement and basically locked me into buying that car. I didn’t get to see it before I bought it as it was in Cork. I did have an issue with my old car which changed the situation and I think they were helpful when that happened but before that happened it was not the service I would expect from Hertz. When I had bought the car and collected it in dublin the car wasn’t clean to the standard I would expect. Looked like someone sneezed all over the dash which took me scrubbing to get off and the seats had small stains. This is a minor issue but not good enough imo. The mud flap on back wheel was broken and it had some small scratches on it after being told it was in perfect condition. Also even though it was a 2023 car and I had test drove another of the same make/model (same year) in another garage. It feels much older inside computer/ looks wise. I had to replace two tyres the first week of owning it as they had slow punctures. The light for that came on 5 minutes after driving from the lot with it. When I was handed the keys I was asked why didn’t I just buy it through the Dublin branch even though I was told I had to buy through Cork branch throughout the process. I had asked a few times to buy it through the Dublin branch. The entire experience made me very upset and I am happy to have a car but also am not 100% happy with it -after dealing with them because of the stress of buying it basically over the phone and having a bad experience. Just overall very disappointed, feeling screwed over rather than looked after. I liked hertz because it didn’t feel previously like you were dealing with a typical car sales man. I wouldn’t go back again.

Bought a car there in January, without a spare key that was promised to be delivered soon. 4 months later and nothing... such a simple thing to sort and they don't seen worried about it. Not buying a car there never again.

I recently purchased my car in Cork branch. David made my experience smooth and explained everything to me. Stephen was very helpful and kind when I went to collect the car. I definitely recommend the Hertz in Cork City.

My experience was very good and positive especially with the sales person David who was very helpful indeed in what I wanted and he hadent got what I wanted at first I left my number with him and I got phone call from David saying they have a car pray and please god I get it
