Death Trap. I purchased this car a year ago and right from the beginning the car kept breaking down. The first incident occurred within the first month which saw the car losing power and light on a dark night on a country road. The car was towed off and the garage fixed it the car was held by them for 2-3 weeks. A short time later the engine started to over heat, the car was barely driven as I was on leave from work at the time. I was told the engine had a crack. The garage promised to exchange the car 3 -4 months passed by, I was offered cars nothing like mine and of a significant lower value. I should have been given a full refund. The garage then told me they had fitted a new engine. I was sceptical I asked questions about the “refurbished” engine and I was given little to no information, just that all necessary checks had been done. It came back with bald tyres and a bunch of coffee cups thrown in the back. I drove the car off the lot and I knew something was off. But I didn’t know what until I was driving down the motor way and my head lights began to flash and then turned off completely. I could literally see nothing. I eventually brought the car to a trusted mechanic, he explained how bad of a condition the car was in and that as the car had been in with the garage for so long he could not understand how the car was in that bad condition. He described it as deathly. The garage then took the car back held it again for months and told me repairs had occurred. Again when I queried what was done to the car they would not tell me in full. This is my car today, a car I’ve probably driven 5/6 months out of a 14 month period after breaking down at main traffic lights and needing to be towed away again. This car has done more kms on the back of a tow truck then on the road. Further I’m told that the clutch I was ensured was fine when I bought it … is gone and needs replacing. The engine that I have no information on was described by a mechanic as worse then then one they took out. I now have a loan for a car that I’ve barely driven and looks like will need expensive repairs. Sure they will be polite sure they will say they will offer after care a comp car and follow up. But what is that worth when you have a car that is not fit for purpose and the dodgy repairs put your life and child's life at risk.
