The All-New BMW 1 Series
The all-new third generation BMW 1 Series has arrived in Ireland. The new area of this successful BMW model features a dynamic design, roomier interior, a raft of cutting-edge technologies as well as BMW’s trademark agility and performance.
Sport Exterior Design
The new 1 Series features several design changes including a new headlight arrangement, a more wedged shaped silhouette and a pronounced ‘shark nose’. At the front, the BMW kidney grille is larger, and for the first time in this model range, the kidneys merge in the middle.
On the sides, the 1 series is enhanced with two distinctive lines, one running below the door handles and the other lifting from the bottom of the front door towards the rear quarter, both of which combine to give the sporty hatchback its muscular character.
There is a wide range of new light-alloy wheels available, and for the first time the option of 19-inch alloys. The SE model is equipped with 16-inch light-alloys, Sport models feature 17-inch and M Sport models come equipped with 18-inch as standard.
High Quality Interior
Thanks to the new front-wheel drive system, the 1 Series comes with more head space, leg space and boot space than previous models. Accentuating this openness are new illuminated trim finishers, which combine perfectly with the elegant cross-stitching. Driver comforts have also been optimised, from automated air conditioning to optional extras such as heated seats and extended mood lighting.
The all-new 1 Series is also now available with a panoramic roof for the first time, with an electrically operated roller blind to provide shading along with a net wind deflector to reduce noise when open.
Intelligent Technologies
The new 1 series offers drivers an enhanced digital experience. The BMW Live Cockpit Professional with navigation function includes two high-quality displays consisting of a high-resolution 10.25-inch Control Display that can be operated by touch and a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument display.
BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant allows you to communicate directly with your vehicle via voice command, which can be accessed by simply saying “Hey BMW”.
Dynamic Drive
Whether its powerful acceleration, agile handling or safe road holding, the all-new BMW 1 Series turns every trip into a highlight thanks to its efficient engine and a set of dynamic drive train and chassis components.
The M TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder petrol engine in the BMW M135i xDrive is particularly powerful because it is equipped with new pistons, a larger turbocharger, optimised intake air routing, a high- performance cooling package and a flap-controlled M exhaust system.
The 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission offers incredibly sporty gear changes. In SPORT mode and with the gear lever in the left-hand S/M position, the gear shifts are configured for the maximum performance.
BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system smoothly and variably distributes drive power to the front and rear wheels for maximum traction, driving dynamics and safety in every driving situation. For even better agility, the electronically controlled power distribution for instance counterbalances oversteer or understeer on bends.
Adaptive suspension makes it possible to adjust the damper characteristics to suit the driving situation and combines ride comfort and driving dynamics with the best possible safety. Via the Driving Experience Control, you can choose the standard COMFORT mode or the SPORT mode.
Models and Equipment Options
The BMW 1 Series offers SE, Sport and M Sport trims as well as the range-topping M135i xDrive, all of which differ from one another in both exterior and interior details.
BMW 1 Series SE: The SE model offers various functional equipment options which boost comfort and safety. 16-inch light-alloy wheels and cruise control both come as standard.
BMW 1 Series Sport Line: The Sport Line features striking design elements in black high-gloss that ensure a particularly sporty appearance. Sport seats in the front offer maximum comfort and optimum support. LED headlights and fog lights complete the look of the sport line model.
BMW 1 Series M Sport: The M Sport model gives the vehicle an even sportier touch. It features aerodynamic body styling as well as satin aluminium struts in the kidney grille whilst the seat upholstery is in Dakota leather with contrast stitching.
The All-New BMW M135i xDrive: The range-topping BMW M135i xDrive incorporates the mesh- design BMW kidney grille and frame, exclusive front bumper air inlet clasps, and wing mirrors all finished in Cerium Grey. Exclusive black high-gloss rear diffuser with mesh design, and side sill covers featuring exclusive M135i xDrive black high-gloss inserts complete the look. Inside there’s the M Sport seat with integrated headrest design finished in Trigon Cloth/Alcantara Anthracite upholstery.
