I can’t stress how good jim and the gang at Galway Windsor Renault are. They helped my disabled dad get an adapted car, and made the whole process easy, sadly he passed away recently and again they stepped in to help us by refinancing the same car. They even paid the old loan off themselves while I had the car and gave us no pressure while we were refinancing. Absolutely the best people to deal with in every way. Thank you from Frankie (Arkana)

Booked my van for diagnostics with Windsor Galway after waiting a month for an appointment. I dropped it off and they kept it for the whole day. They called me back, charged me for the diagnostics, and told me they had no appointment available anytime soon to fix the faults. They also said the repair would cost over €5000, with several problems listed on their diagnostics sheet. After that, I booked with a trusted local mechanic in my town. They found the real issue, a faulty solenoid in the turbo. The van is now fixed and driving perfectly. Windsor told me my DPF, turbo, and thermal lines all needed to be replaced based on the codes they saw. But any mechanic knows that codes only point to symptoms, not the exact problem. I was even told in plain words that my DPF was “completely blocked,” which was not true. Windsor, why do this? Imagine if I had scrapped the van because of your diagnostics. Never again. Be aware, folks.

Pros: Inside is clean, and neat. Employees are very friendly and professional. They have a lovely little coffee bar and a comfortable space to wait. Cons: The place is hard to navigate with extremely limited parking for customers. Despite being the largest dealership in Galway, they cannot provide all service requirements for the vehicles they sell and service. They also hold "bankers hours". You MUST take time out of work in order to get any work done. My wait was 6 WEEKS to fix something. Previously I had to wait EIGHT weeks for a basic service. While the employees are wonderful and the quality of their work is good, I can't say I'd recommend them for service for these reasons. They clearly do not value the money their customers time and money.

I brought my car to Windsor Galway 3 months ago for a full service, which was quite expensive. I expected everything to be done properly, including the oil change. But 2 weeks ago, I got a message on my car saying "Oil Change Due". That doesn’t make sense, since the oil should have been changed during the service. I’ve been calling and sending emails, but no one has replied. So disappointed. After paying that much, I expected better service and at least a reply to my messages.

Went in to see if I could get a Firmware update on my imported Mazda Demio. The lady at services front desk told me they didn’t have the right computer to change the software on Japanese cars. She suggested some other shops nearby, and when I asked them they said the Mazda dealer should absolutely be able to. I then was able to achieve this within about 20 minutes with a laptop and a usb stick at home. The files are online for free and all you need to do is plug in the usb into the car and let it update. Very simple, just watch a YouTube video. Felt like they didn’t want to help just because I didn’t buy the car there. I’d happily had paid for the service before knew I could do it myself. A Mazda dealer should know how to do this easily, and as the only Mazda dealer in Galway should offer the service. Only 2 stars as the lady at the front desk was very nice.
