Outstanding Service and Value at Laharts Volkswagen in Kilkenny! I recently brought my 2016 Golf 1.6tdi to Lahart Garage LTD. in Kilkenny for its 100,000+ Km service and timing belt replacement, and I honestly couldn't be happier with the entire experience. From my very first email inquiry to book the service, the staff were incredibly helpful. My service advisors, Emma and Ewa, were absolutely fantastic. They took the time to explain everything clearly, kept me updated throughout the day, and patiently answered all my questions. What's more, the offer was very good compared to other authorised dealers, which was a huge bonus. The work itself was completed well within the estimated time, and my car feels great – it's running perfectly! I especially appreciate their transparency with pricing and the fact that they didn't try to push any unnecessary repairs. To top it all off, after I dropped off my car, they even arranged transport for me into town, and the gentleman who drove me was incredibly nice and pleasant. I highly recommend Laharts Volkswagen Kilkenny for their truly professional, efficient, customer-focused service, and excellent value! They genuinely go above and beyond.
I bought a car off Anthony mannion I have to say he was the most nicest and helpful salesman that I’ve came across in a long time!! That would be one of the reasons I bought the Tiguan from him. I hope to buy many more in the years to come Regards Harry Stanley
Review: ⭐☆☆☆☆ (If I could give zero, I would) Pathetic experience with LAHARTS Volkswagen – Waterford Road, Kilkenny. I booked my Volkswagen Polo in only for an NCT pre‑check and to diagnose a red foot‑warning light on the dashboard. I clearly stated that I did NOT want a regular service (the car had a full service with Laharts in January, just 7,500 km ago). 1. Ignored instructions: They went ahead and did a full service anyway, then billed me for it. 2. No diagnostics: When I reminded them about the red warning light, I was told it would require “at least an hour of diagnostics” and they couldn’t fit that in—so they simply didn’t do it. 3. Unfinished NCT items: The NCT check flagged a torn CV boot on the front‑right driver side, yet they refused to fix it during the visit because “no time slot available”; I now have to book in again next month. 4. €300 for nothing: I drove out €300 poorer with the warning light still on and the CV boot still faulty. This is absolutely unacceptable from an authorised dealer. I feel like I paid €300 for no real work done—certainly not worth even one star. Replying to Laharts' response: I’d like to clarify what actually happened during my visit. When I dropped off my car, I clearly explained all the issues—including the red warning light—to your service receptionist. He entered everything into the computer and then asked me to sign on the iPad. (Admittedly, I didn’t read the contents before signing, which was my mistake.) I didn’t receive any updates during the day, so I called the service center myself in the evening. That’s when your service executive informed me that the service and NCT check had been completed, and they had found an issue with the front-right CV boot. He told me to collect the car the next day. When I arrived to collect it, the executive mentioned the CV boot issue but said nothing about the red warning light. I then specifically asked whether that issue had been checked. He went out to the car, checked it himself, and then spoke with the workshop mechanic. After that, the mechanic came to me directly and said that the warning light issue would require one hour of diagnostics and that there had been a communication issue. I reminded them that I had dropped the car off primarily for the warning light and NCT check. Despite that, it had been overlooked. The executive acknowledged the miscommunication but couldn’t provide any further explanation. When I asked how to proceed, he said it wouldn't be possible to fit the diagnostics anytime soon and that I might need to come back next month. Also, for context: during my regular service in January, I had informed your staff that my NCT was due in July. I was told then that January was too early for an NCT check, which is exactly why I scheduled the visit now. Despite planning accordingly and clearly stating my concerns, the key issues were left unresolved. And one more thing—don’t you have records in your system showing that a full regular service, including oil change, was already carried out just 6 months ago (around 7,500 km back)? It makes no sense to carry out another service so soon, especially without discussing it with me beforehand. This has been a very disappointing experience, especially from an authorised dealer.
Lovely staff members especially my point of contact Ewa, friendly service from start to finish. Kept me updated with progress and potential costs regarding service on my Car, and timely resolution. Will definitely recommend!
First time at Laharts as my local VW dealer switched to Toyota (Tom Murphy). From the booking to walking out to a well washed car (with a new 12V battery), my experience was very positive. The staff were friendly and efficient, the car was ready when stated. A ride to and from Kilkenny town was provided and so I spent a delightful morning in a beautiful setting whilst a professional team dealt with my vehicle. Big thanks to Laharts, I will be back come service time.
