I viewed and test drove a car priced at €14,500, agreed a trade-in of €800 for my own car, and negotiated a final total of €12,500 with Neil. We shook hands on this deal. I secured a loan, arranged insurance transfer for the date & time we had organised for collection and arrived with a bank draft only to be told the price was suddenly back up to €14,500. Neil claimed he "didn’t remember" our agreement, despite multiple phone calls that week confirming details. He never contacted me to inform me of any price change, despite having all my contact details [mobile/ email/ address]. When I asked to speak to the owner, Des, he left me waiting for nearly an hour. When he did eventually speak with me, he backed Neil without question. I even witnessed Neil pull Des aside for a private conversation before that meeting. I now have a loan and no car, paid to swap insurance twice, had to return to the bank to cancel a draft, and to top it all off when refunding my deposit, Neil accidentally charged me an extra €500, leaving me waiting again to get my own money back. This experience was stressful, financially damaging, and completely avoidable. If this is how Bright Citroën Bray under Neil Meade [salesman] and Des Fitzpatrick [branch owner] conducts business, I would strongly advise others to take their custom elsewhere. Shocking lack of professionalism, integrity, and accountability. A handshake & verbal agreement should mean something. Clearly, it doesn't here. --- Reply to the response from the owner: Your response is not only inaccurate, it’s insulting. The €12,500 deal, including my €800 trade-in, was clearly agreed & shook upon. I rearranged my finances, secured a loan, paid for insurance changes, and showed up with a bank draft, only to be met with denial & deflection. Neil had ample opportunity to be honest. Instead, I was blindsided. This wasn’t a “misunderstanding”. It was a bait-and-switch, a deliberate U-turn, handled with zero integrity or respect for my time & money. The lack of accountability and basic professionalism here is astounding.
My personal experience with Bright Bray and dealing with Cormac Gaffey was and is Top Class. From the first day of purchasing (2021) until today (2025) Cormac has been always super helpful and I can not recommend him highly enough. Top Class Top Man Cormac
I had my Ford Focus serviced at Bright Ford in Bray last week. I am happy with the service but would like to point our two errors on the diagnostic report I received. I am not sure if I can trust Ford to give me an accurate report. Spark plugs are good (my car has a diesel engine); Wiper blades need to be replaced (I fitted new wiper blades one month ago). These errors leave me with an uneasy feeling. Is the rest of the report correct? What other errors are there?
Neal worked so hard for us to get our new car, cant fault his efforts and ethics. Trade in and taking new vehicle went so easily. Highly recommend
Very very disappointing service, I have purchased 4 vehicles from Cormac over the past 18 months, an extremely professional and honest salesman. I have had an issue with one of the vans I bought from them, sent it in to get a leaking power steering pump repaired, only to be told it's not leaking, they topped up the reservoir and gave it back to me, all while having no replacement vehicle and a day off the road, after a few weeks low and behold, still leaking and reservoir empty again!! This time they gave me a replacement van for the day but yet again they didn't change power steering pump, instead telling me that they replaced a washer! They think everyone they deal with is clueless. Today is the 3rd time I've noticed an empty power steering reservoir and I can't wait to see this times excuse... I also had to row with them over an engine light that came on, they wanted to charge me for the diagnostic but after standing my ground they relented and done a diagnostic on it. Their conclusion, it came on because the van has never been serviced, yet when it was pointed out to them it's serviced every 10k km and the oil in it was changed 3k km ago with oil I purchased from them, genuine parts, they changed their tune and tried to say it was dpf problems. As with other reviews it seems that the service department is lacking any adequate knowledge or honesty, which brings down the garage in general. If it wasn't that Cormac is such a nice, decent man this would be a zero star rating.
