"The Porsche 911 Targa has the body style that offers the open top sensations of a convertible, but maintains the majority of feel and comfort that you’d expect from a coupé. Porsche says the GTS is about performance naturally, but it’s also about comfort and everyday usability and this is where the car really excels. And it’s in the same vain why we’d suggest that you go away from the seven speed manual transmission and opt for the seven speed PDK automatic because it’s quicker to shift, it feels seamless and weirdly, it now actually feels more precise to use than the manual.
True, enthusiasts are still going to opt for the coupé body style because it has a bit more rigidity, a bit more finesse, but for the majority of people, the Targa could be the best half way house between a coupé and a convertible. "
