The Lamborghini Urus, The World’s First Super SUV

The pure Lamborghini design and the outstanding performance make it absolutely unique

The Lamborghini Urus SUV, wait? Yes, that’s correct Lamborghini have created another SUV.

I say another as back in 1986 Lamborghini launched the LM002, Lamborghini’s first entry into the SUV market and although it’s been quite a while since then they at least unlike others Bentley, Alfa Romeo to name a few have some experience in this area.

The LM002 was created out of two prototype vehicles, the Cheetah and the LM001, seen below.

While the LM001 and the Cheetah were created many moons ago the new Lamborghini Urus appears to have taken on the same style with some major new age looks and performance to match with added finesse.

The Urus looks almost identical as the prototype from May 2012, that’s 5 and a half years since concept which has finally come to life.

The Urus front engine SUV is on par with similar SUV’s of this day, but with a 4L twin turbo V8 producing 650HP which is capable of 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. Who wouldn’t want to see the Urus race a modern Tesla for its money. However, the Lamborghini Urus is now the fastest SUV on the market today.

The 2.1 tonne vehicle has the largest carbon ceramic breaks on any production car to date. With the likes of Audi SQ7’s 48-volt anti roll control with 4-wheel steering which should help in the tight spaces or those U-turns on say our country roads.

With the exterior looking like it should, a Lamborghini. The interior is much the same with its sharp lines and a very modern interface similar to that of the Land Rover Velar or the Audi A8.

It’s hard to imagine many people buying this due to the company being primarily known for high performance vehicles but it’s good to see some car companies doing something very different and standing out form the modern car crowd.

All in all, this could be the future of SUVs or at least a taste of things to come.
