The best 252-plate offers in Ireland this summer.

Yes, it’s new registration time once again, and it’s time to throw away that ratty old 251 plate for a nice, shiny, new 252 plate. As always, the car companies are rolling out some enticing deals to try and grab your custom, so here’s our rundown of the best offers available for 252 registration.

Alfa Romeo: Alfa is offering 3.9 per cent finance packages on all of its current model lineup — that’s the Junior, the Tonale, the Giulia and the Stelvio — with a five-year warranty on everything as well. 

Audi: Audi’s ‘All-Access’ 252 offer includes finance packages with interest rates as low as 2.9 per cent, plus discounts on extra equipment on specific models, including free metallic paint for the electric Q4 e-tron SUV; a €2,545 ‘Business Pack’ including sport seats, reversing camera, adaptive cruise control, Audi smartphone interface, Audi sound system and park assist plus for the A5 e-Hybrid; a €4,630 ‘Vorsprung’ pack for the Q7 e-Hybrid including panoramic glass sunroof, Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, ambient lighting package, acoustic insulated glass, flat-bottomed steering wheel, tinted rear windows and front sport seats with diamond stitching; a 26 per cent discount on extra equipment packs for the A1; 40 per cent off equipment packs for the A3; 20 per cent savings on extra equipment for the new A6; discounted equipment packs for the electric A6 e-tron; a 30 per cent discount on extra equipment for the Q2; 40 per cent off extra equipment for the Q3; discounted equipment packs for the new Q5 and the all-electric Q6 e-tron; and 30 per cent off equipment packs for the Q7 and Q8. 

BMW: BMW has special finance package offers for 252, with interest rates starting from 3.9 per cent, which could put — for instance — a new 1 Series on your driveway for €320 per month. 

Citroen: Citroen also has finance offers in place, with some cars — the new e-C4 and e-C4X for example — being available with zero per cent interest, and monthly repayments dip as low as €199 a month for the new C3. There’s also a free home charger installation and a 20 per cent discount on electricity from Energia if you buy a Citroen EV, along with a five-year warranty and three years’ ‘VIP’ roadside assistance, and a ten per cent discount on car insurance from Aviva.

Cupra: Cupra is offering low interest finance — starting from 2.9 per cent — across its entire range, with monthly repayments as low as €279 for a Cupra Formentor, €359 for the new Terramar SUV, €319 for the all-electric Tavascan SUV, €309 for the Leon hatchback; and €279 for the all-electric Born hatchback. Meanwhile, the 300hp Cupra Ateca SUV is still available, on zero per cent finance, with repayments from €379 per month.

Dacia: If you want a new Dacia for 252, then there’s zero per cent hire purchase finance for the all-electric Dacia Spring, with no deposit and repayments of €403 per month, or you could go for a 3.9 per cent PCP package on the same car with repayments from just €99 per month. The rest of the range has finance packages varying between 3.9 per cent and 4.9 per cent interest, with monthly repayments starting from as low as €109 for a Sandero hatchback, €149 for a Sandero Stepway, €199 for a Duster, €189 for a seven-seat Jogger, €225 for a Jogger Hybrid or €215 for the new Bigster SUV. 

Fiat: For 252 registrations, Fiat is offering 3.9 per cent interest finance on a new 500e electric hatchback, with a complimentary home charging point from Energia thrown in which comes with a 20 per cent discount on your electricity bill if you switch to Energia. That offer’s also valid for the electric Fiat 600e small SUV. 

Ford: To try and entice 252-plate shoppers into its electric car lineup, Ford is having a special Go Electric 252 event, which includes discounts on its EVs — Explorer, Puma, Capri and Mustang Mach-E — of up to €3,000 and monthly repayments on finance starting from as little as €149.

Honda: Honda is offering discounts of up to €2,000 off its hybrid models — including the Jazz, HR-V, Civic, CR-V and ZR-V — along with finance packages with 4.9 per cent interest rates. 

Hyundai: Hyundai is offering you a choice of special offers this July — you can either get a very low interest rate on finance, as low as 1.9 per cent depending on the model, or you can grab a €500 gift voucher if you’re buying an electric Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, Kona EV, or Ioniq 9 model which can be spent on servicing or on Hyundai accessories. There’s also an offer with Energia for home charging your electric Hyundai, which can get you ultra-cheap electricity at just 7.54c per kWh between 2am and 6am, plus a free home charging point. 

Jeep: Jeep, which recently equalised the prices of its electric, hybrid and petrol-powered Avenger, has now equalised the interest on the finance for the Avenger — and all its other models — at 3.9 per cent, plus there’s the offer of a complimentary Energia home charging point if you’re buying electric. 

Kia: If you fancy a new Kia, you can avail of finance packages with a 3.9 per cent interest rate. Better yet, if you fancy a new electric Kia — or a Sportage plug-in hybrid — you can get a zero per cent interest rate, plus a free home charging point. On top of that, there’s a €500 Super Valu voucher for every new Kia ordered before the end of June. 

Mazda: There’s a selection of finance packages for new Mazdas, with rates varying between 3.9 per cent and 4.9 per cent. Monthly repayments start from €222 for a Mazda2 Hybrid, plus a €1,000 trade-in boost; €305 for a Mazda3 plus a €1,000 trade-in boost; €283 for a CX-30 plus a €2,000 trade-in boost; €497 for a CX-60 plus a €2,000 trade-in boost; €534 for a CX-80 plus a €2,000 trade-in boost; and €362 for the iconic MX-5 sports car. 

MG: If you fancy a bargain, MG is offering big discounts on its model range, including €1,500 off an MG3 Hybrid+ or the new ZS Hybrid+, and €2,500 off the new HS plug-in hybrid. There’s a massive €4,000 discount off an all-electric MG4, or you can have zero per cent finance for that model. 

Nissan: Nissan is, for 252 registrations, offering ‘4K Your Way’ which means you can either have a €4,000 trade-in booster, or a €4,000 finance contribution — either way, it means knocking €4,000 off the cost of a new Qashqai, X-Trial, Juke or Ariya and there’s 5.9 per cent interest finance available too. 

Opel: Opel is offering, appropriately, 2.52 per cent interest finance packages on almost all of its current model range, with monthly repayments starting from €210 for a Corsa, plus a €1,000 trade-in boost; €255 for a Mokka, with a €1,000 trade-in boost; €280 for an Astra, with a €1,000 trade-in boost; and €330 for the new Grandland, with a €1,000 trade-in boost. 

Peugeot: Peugeot has finance packages available at interest rates as low as 1.9 per cent, plus trade-in boosters of up to €1,500. So, you could have a new 208 with monthly repayments starting from €200, plus a €1,000 trade-in bonus; a 2008 for €233 a month, with a €1,000 trade-in bonus; a 308 for €250 plus a €1,500 trade-in bonus; a 3008 for €339 plus a €1,000 trade-in bonus; a 408 for €402 plus a €1,500 trade-in bonus; a 5008 for €393 plus a €1,00 trade-in bonus; or the last of the 508 fastbacks and estates for €387 plus a €1,500 trade-in bonus. There’s also a free home charging point for EV buyers, a three-year service plan included and a five-year warranty. 

Polestar: If you’re in the market for a new Polestar 2, then Polestar Ireland can offer you an upgrade to a Long Range Single Motor model on a zero per cent interest finance plan. The same offer is available for the Polestar 4, and there’s also a pre-configured Polestar 2 Business Edition Standard Range Single Motor model for €44,025. 

Renault: Renault is offering a €1,500 trade-in bonus for buyers of the Symbioz, Arkana, Scenic, Captur, Austral, Rafale and Megane, or a €1,000 trade-in bonus for a Clio. Don’t want the trade-in bonus? Then you can have zero per cent finance instead, with monthly repayments starting from €189 for a Clio; €239 for a Captur; €249 for a Megane E-Tech Electric; €249 for an Arkana; €279 for a Symbioz; €289 for a Scenic E-Tech Electric; €339 for an Austral; and €375 for a Rafale. 

SEAT: SEAT has zero per cent finance available, meaning you can have an Ibiza hatchback for €169 a month; an Arona crossover for €189 a month; an Ateca SUV for €289 a month; or a Leon hatchback for €229 a month and a Leon Sportstourer estate for €249 a month. All of those models also include three years’ worth of tyre cover, and three years’ roadside assistance. 

Skoda: Skoda has some zero per cent finance offers, including the electric Elroq for €169 per month; the electric Enyaq Sportline for €359 a month; or the electric Enyaq Coupe for €399 per month. There’s also 1.9 per cent finance for the Kodiaq Plug-In Hybrid (€399 a month); the Superb Combi Plug-In Hybrid (€419 a month); and the Octavia (€229 per month). There’s 3.9 per cent finance for the Fabia, Karoq, Scala, Kamiq and Superb, or 4.9 per cent finance for the regular Kodiaq. Finally, there’s a 0.9 per cent finance offer for the electric Enyaq, with monthly repayments starting from €329 per month. 

Subaru: Subaru has 3.9 per cent interest finance available for the electric Solterra SUV, with monthly repayments starting from €348 per month, and 5.9 per cent finance for the Outback 4x4 estate, with repayments starting from €668 per month. 

Suzuki: Suzuki’s 252 offer includes €2,000 off the price of a new S-Cross SUV, with zero per cent finance available; as well as zero per cent finance for the Swift supermini, the Vitara SUV and the Ignis mini-SUV. 

Toyota: If you fancy a 252-plate Toyota, you can choose between a low interest rate for finance, or a chunky discount by way of a trade-in booster. So, there’s either up to €3,000 off a plug-in hybrid C-HR, or a 2.9 per cent finance package (depending on the version); up to €3,000 off a Prius, or 3.9 per cent finance; €2,000 off a bZ4X electric SUV, or 3.9 per cent finance; €1,750 off a Corolla Cross, or 4.9 per cent finance; €1,750 off a C-HR, or 3.9 per cent finance; €1,500 off a Corolla hatchback or saloon, or 4.9 per cent finance; €1,000 off a Yaris or 3.9 per cent finance; €1,500 off a Corolla Touring Sports estate or 4.9 per cent finance; or €750 off an Aygo X or 4.9 per cent finance. 

Volkswagen: VW is letting you choose between hire purchase and PCP finance rates — so there’s a zero per cent HP finance pack for the Polo, or a 2.9 per cent PCP with monthly payments starting from €199; the same for a Golf with payments from €259; zero per cent HP or 1.9 per cent PCP for an electric ID.3, from €249 a month; zero per cent HP or 0.9 per cent PCP for an ID.4 from €229 per month; zero per cent HP or 1.9 per cent PCP for an ID.5 for €259 per month; the same offer for the ID.7 starting from €429 per month; a T-Cross on either zero per cent HP or 3.9 per cent PCP from €259 per month; a Taigo with zero per cent interest on both HP and PCP, from €189 per month; a T-Roc on either zero per cent HP or 2.9 per cent PCP from €259 per month; or the same offer on a Tiguan from €339 per month; and the new Tayron with 0.9 per cent HP or 3.9 per cent PCP finance, from €419 per month. Or, finally, there’s the big Touareg on 6.9 per cent HP or PCP finance, with repayments starting from €1,229 per month. 

Volvo: Volvo has a 1.9 per cent interest PCP finance package in place for the electric EX40 SUV and EC40 SUV Coupe, with repayments starting from €524 per month. There’s also €1,500 off an EX30 electric crossover, plus a €500 contribution towards a home charging point and zero per cent finance. The big EX90 electric seven-seater is available with 5.95 per cent PCP finance, or you can have the plug-in hybrid XC60 on 3.95 per cent PCP finance, which is also available for the plug-in hybrid XC90, or there’s the plug-in hybrid V60 estate on 4.95 per cent PCP finance.
