New Toyota Prius available exclusively as a Plug-In Hybrid

Toyota Ireland has revealed pricing details for the new Prius

Toyota Ireland is preparing to unveil the fifth generation of its renowned hybrid vehicle, the Prius, in July. The new Prius stands out as an exclusive Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) option, starting at a retail price of €45,900. To ensure availability, customers are encouraged to reach out to their Toyota local dealership, as demand is expected to be high.

For those eager to catch a glimpse of the new Prius, it will be showcased for the first time in Ireland at the Bloom festival from June 1st to June 5th. This presents a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to admire the vehicle up close before it becomes available at dealerships.

Originally launched in 1997, the Prius has gained recognition as the world's most popular hybrid electric vehicle, with over 5 million units sold to date. The fifth-generation PHEV boasts a striking design departure from its predecessor, featuring a sleek hammerhead design and transformative elements that exhibit a stylistic evolution. With modern details and an elegantly sloped rear, the new Prius captivates from every angle.

Toyota remains committed to carbon neutrality, and the Prius has played a vital role in driving the transition towards zero emissions. In Ireland, the fifth-generation Prius will be exclusively available as a PHEV, offering a range of up to 71km in zero emissions mode on a single charge. This latest edition exemplifies the ongoing advancement of hybrid technology, providing an additional choice for those interested in embarking on their electrification journey. For most drivers, the Prius PHEV functions like an electric vehicle during daily commutes, seamlessly transitioning to an efficient hybrid model once the battery power is depleted. The Prius represents a testament to Toyota's dedication to sustainable mobility, and its fifth generation exemplifies the continued progression of hybrid technology.

Commenting on the Prius Plug-in Hybrid, Zoë Bradley, Head of Marketing Communications and Corporate Affairs in Toyota Ireland said: “The Prius was first introduced in 1997 and continues to chart the course in our journey to zero emissions. The new Prius Plug-in Hybrid comes with a stunning design we know our Irish customers will love, along with an impressive 12.3” Toyota Smart Connect multimedia system, 19” alloys, a new 13.6 kWh lithium-ion battery and heated and ventilated driver and passenger seats. We expect the Prius Plug-in Hybrid to be very popular and encourage customers to get in touch with their dealer today to find out more about this next generation model.”
