Didn't think so, but it appears someone did as Fiat and high end fridge maker Smeg have come together to do exactly that. In truth the Smeg 500 is only the front end of a Fiat 500 rather than the whole car, as we would imagine trying to fit an entire car in your kitchen would prove problematic.
Unveiled last week at a swanky event in Paris the Smeg 500 features all the things you would expect of a fridge (Energy Class A+ for lower road tax, a total capacity of 100 litres, adjustable thermostat etc.) along with some nice touches like a dedicated shelf for cans of Peroni and three removable bottle holders.
We are assured that no actual Fiat 500s were injured in producing these 'iconic places for food' and that they are instead faithful reproductions of the classic car. A good thing that, as Fiat may have regretted the collaboration had Smeg started to hack up old cars to fulfil orders.
The Smeg 500 is part of the 'Fiat 500 Design Collection' and can be ordered with matching sofa, table and console table - all inspired by the car that mobilised Italy.
Available in the very patriotic colours of green, white or red the Smeg 500 can be ordered from http://fiat500design.com/.
