Citroën Unveil New C5 Aircross SUV

Available in Petrol, Diesel and Plug-in Hybrid, the New C5 Aircross SUV will go on sale in Ireland in Q2 this year.

Citroën have today unveiled the new C5 Aircross. The facelifted SUV has undergone significant design enhancements as part of the product refresh which was revealed in Paris earlier this morning. It will be available in both petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid versions and will go on sale here in Q2 2022 for the 222 July registration period.

At first glance the exterior changes to the front end are evident. With current Citroën models, the brand logo is designed in chrome on the front grille as an extension of the daytime running lights, however, the new C5 Aircross proudly displays a larger chevron logo set in a black lacquer with chrome surrounds. This logo rests on a newly designed grille that features a chrome and piano black combination and sits independently from the daytime running lights to offer a more modern and imposing look. This design is further complimented by the new styling of the air intake area which visually widens the front end, echoing the style of the C4 and C5 X.  In addition, larger and wider air curtains add to the muscular stance and help to improve the overall aerodynamics. Further displays of power and robustness are also evident from the distinctive high and horizontal bonnet while the chrome C side signature reinforce the floating roof effect. The C5 Aircross also offers an impressive ground clearance of 230mm for true off-road appeal. Consistent with the front of the vehicle, the rear light signature has been redesigned with dark and structured glass to highlight three individual LED lighting modules in a 3D effect. As with the current model, the C5 Aircross offers significant customisation options thanks to four different exterior colour packs that alter the colour of the front air intakes and the side Airbump®. The facelifted C5 Aircross will be available in 6 different colour options including the new Eclipse Blue option which is a deep blue colour that can change to black depending on the external light exposure.

Inside, a new 10” touchscreen forms the focal point of a more modern passenger compartment. This new, larger screen improves ergonomics while the air vents are now located below the screen to ensure a higher reading position. In addition, the fully customisable 12.3” digital display provides all essential and customisable information directly in the driver’s eye-line ensuring optimal road visibility at all times. The New C5 Aircross is equipped with the latest generation of Citroën Advanced Comfort® seats offering high-density foam in the core of the seat with an extra 15mm layer of memory foam featuring a specific design to resist sagging over time. The optional heating and massage function provide an added layer of occupant comfort also. Furthermore, colours and materials have been refined, with new contemporary seating fabrics complimented by the blue decorative stitching which extends onto the door panels and dashboard. A new soft-touch Alcantara will be standard on the popular Flair model with a high end black grained leather trim standard on the range topping Flair Pack models. The armrests and the central console are also redesigned thanks to a new structured black leather effect insert.

Irish pricing and specification for the New C5 Aircross SUV will be announced in March with first vehicles expected to arrive on Irish shores in June.
