Volkswagen's 182 offers

Volkswagen Ireland has begun laying out its stall of special offers, ahead of the arrival of the 182-registration plate. Zero per cent finance will be available on some models and there are deposit contributions of up to €2,000, plus price cuts on extra equipment packs.

Volkswagen actually stands as the best-selling brand coming into 182, with the recently-introduced Polo, Tiguan Allspace and T-Roc all selling strongly, and a surprisingly good showing for the new Arteon, which is now available with a 190hp petrol 2.0-litre TSI engine. That's available with PCP finance at just 1.9 per cent interest, or €399 a month. July and the 182 plate will also see the arrival of the luxurious new Touareg large SUV.

For the rest of the range, there are plenty of upgrades and offers. Those include tech upgrades, such as the pack available for the Golf Highline, which includes the big touchscreen, satnav, adaptive high-beam lights, a reversing camera and a winter pack. That's all worth €1,711, but you can have it as a bundle for €699.

Buyers can get that Golf Highline on a zero per cent interest PCP plan, with repayments from €279 a month, and there's an R-Line exterior styling pack upgrade available for €899, which Volkswagen says is a saving of €352.

For the Polo Trendline, you can get a technology upgrade that includes a multifunction steering wheel, driver alert system and a multi-function trip computer display, for €499, when it should cost €861. There's 3.9 per cent PCP finance available for that model, with repayments starting from €179 per month, plus there's a few of the Launch Edition models left in stock, with PCP finance from 1.9 per cent interest.

For the T-Roc, there's 3.9 per cent PCP finance, with repayments starting from €279 per month, while the Sport model can be had with the technology upgrade including satnav, a rear-view camera, a panoramic sunroof and a winter pack for €1,499, a claimed saving of €1,300.

Tiguan Highline models will come with a €1,000 deposit contribution and zero per cent finance for orders placed before June 30th. Repayments start at €339 for the 150hp 2.0-litre TDI model. There's also a tech pack available, including panoramic sunroof, keyless entry and the driver assistance package, which should cost €2,879, but which you can nab for €1,119. There's also an R-Line exterior and interior styling pack for €1,799, a saving of €923. The Tiguan Allspace also gets the €1,000 deposit contribution and zero per cent finance, with repayments starting from €359 per month.

Passat Highline models will come with a €2,000 deposit contribution and you can get a pack that includes a heated steering wheel, park assist, keyless entry, the online App Connect system and Apple CarPlay for €399, when it should all cost €1,254. There's also zero per cent finance, with monthly repayments starting from €299 for a 1.6 TDI model, and there's also an R-Line styling pack for €999, saving you €475.
