Toyota has been busy tweaking and adjusting the equipment and specs of its best-selling Auris and Avensis ranges. The upshot is that you can now get an Avensis Luna model at a saving of around €2,400 compared to the outgoing one.
The new Avensis Luna comes with dual-zone climate control, auto lights and wipers, Bluetooth and the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with rear-view camera, 17-inch alloy wheels, leather/Alcantara upholstery and driver's seat power lumbar support. The price of the model, using a 2.0-litre D-4D diesel engine, is €28,995, which Toyota says is €2,415 cheaper than the old Avensis Luna.
There's also a new Avensis Sol model, costing €30,995, which features full leather upholstery as standard, heated front seats with eight-way adjustable settings, an electric steering column with memory and a smart entry system with a push button start. Toyota says that this model is cheaper than the old one to the tune of €415.
Over on the Auris side of the showroom, the Auris hatch and Sports Touring estate have been given an upgrade, with a new Sol model priced from €22,100. That price includes heated driver and passenger seats, power lumbar support for the driver and an exclusive Sol interior trim, sports seats featuring silver stitching, plus rear and side privacy glass. The Auris and Auris Touring Sports Sol are also equipped with the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system, which includes a 6.1-inch colour touch screen display with MirrorLink, a Bluetooth mobile hands-free system and music streaming functionality. The Toyota Touch 2 system also features a rear-view camera for parking.
