The New Nissan X-Trail Has Arrived

The Nissan X-Trail crossover, has been a popular choice with Irish families thanks to its rugged design, frugal engine and of course the option of five or seven-seat cabin. For 2018, the X-Trail has received a significant overhaul with a host of styling improvements, greater refinement inside and more innovative technology than ever before. It just went on sale at Nissan dealerships nationwide and those who are looking for an adventurous family car should look no further.

The X-Trail looks more muscular than before, with new LED headlights and Nissan’s latest front grille design, while there is also a newly-reshaped rear bumper and chrome detailing along the side of the car. The updated model definitely has more road presence, and there is also a new range of alloy wheels fitted as standard for extra flair. Those who like to stand out from the crowd can now choose from a total of ten different colour combinations available.

Inside you will find a high-quality finish throughout, as the new model boasts an upgraded sporty D-shaped steering wheel, more leather detailing around the centre console area, a new choice of door trims, and much more. The X-Trail is available with five or seven seats, and high-quality leather upholstery is included as standard with optional front and rear heated which is the perfect upgrade on frosty Irish winter mornings. The updated X-Trail also leads the way in terms of space with best-in-class knee room and a clever sliding and reclining feature on the rear seats.

Higher specification versions are equipped with an electric tailgate with handsfree functionality, so you can open the boot by moving your foot under the rear bumper to open it when your hands are full. Boot space has also been improved significantly to 565 litres in the five seat version, while seven seat models have a respectable 445 litres of room. Music lovers will love the new BOSE Premium audio system which is featured as standard on SVE specification model.

From 2018, family buyers seeking extra safety will love the X-Trail’s new Intelligent Mobility technologies including ProPILOT autonomous drive. ProPILOT helps to control steering, acceleration and braking in a single lane on motorways, and it’s incredibly intuitive to use. Other features which have been newly-added to the X-Trail include Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Recognition and Stand Still Assist, which you can read in depth about at
