Revised Octavia Scout shown

Skoda has facelifted and updated the Octavia Scout estate.

Skoda has updated the Octavia Scout as part of the revamped Octavia family. There's updated styling and new technology.

The new look includes a more prominent bonnet, wide radiator grille and additional headlights with a 'crystalline' look, plus full-LED lights with adaptive front lights. At the rear, the modified fog lights and tail lamps are equipped with LED technology, too. In keeping with the Scout's off-road character there is silver-coloured underbody protection, while the standard 'Rough-Road' package features plastic covering to protect the undercarriage as well as the brake and fuel lines.

Off road performance is assisted by ground clearance that is 30mm greater than the standard Octavia; ramp angles are 16.6 degrees at the front and 14.5 degrees at the rear. The electronic differential lock (EDL) comes as standard and allows the car to pull away smoothly on difficult surfaces according to Skoda. An Off-Road function is available for safer and easier descents on rough terrain. When in use, the speed of the vehicle is maintained without driver intervention.

'Simply Clever' features include a heated steering wheel and seats with the Thermo-Flux function that, periodically, increases the air and moisture permeability to improve comfort in different weather conditions.

The Octavia Scout can be ordered with a variety of assistance systems. Features include Trailer Assist, Blind Spot Detect and Rear Traffic Alert (it monitors traffic approaching from the sides and behind when manoeuvring). Crew Protect Assist protects the occupants by closing windows and the sunroof in the event of an impending collision, as well as tensioning the seat belts on the front seats; this is connected to the improved Front Assist function, which includes City Emergency Brake and predictive Pedestrian Protection functions.

A range of touch-screen infotainment systems are available, in line with the current generation of Skoda models. The top-of-the-line offering, the Columbus navigation system, has a 9.2-inch display and provides passengers with a Wi-Fi hotspot. Emergency assistance 'eCall' is available as an option.
