Renault has unveiled a facelift for its popular Fluence saloon with changes to both the exterior and interior.

What's the news?
Renault has unveiled a facelift for its popular Fluence saloon with changes to both the exterior and interior.

Exterior
The new look Fluence gains Renault's new corporate look, similar to that of the recently launched fourth-generation Clio. The new oversized logo is set between LED daytime running lights and a blacked out grille with chrome detailing.

Interior
All versions of the Fluence gain new digital instrumentation along with Bluetooth, remote central locking, LED lights, rear parking sensors, cruise control, dual-zone climate control and a multimedia system available - depending on trim level - with entry level cars getting USB and aux-in sockets.

At the top end of the range is the new Renault R-Link multimedia system that incorporates a touchscreen navigation system and telephony functions. In time the R-Link system will also provide access to a catalogue of automotive applications that can be downloaded in the same way as smartphone applications.

Mechanicals
Like the current model the new Renault Fluence will be available with a 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine with outputs of either 90- or 110hp. Both manual and automatic transmissions are available, both of which fall below 120g/km for tax Band A motoring. The diesels are joined by a 110hp 1.6-litre petrol engine that emits 155g/km resulting in road tax of €330 per year.

Anything else?
The new Fluence is available to order now with prices ranging from €19,690 for the petrol engined car in Expression trim to €25,990 for a 110hp diesel with automatic transmission in R-Link specification.

Renault is backing up the car's launch with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and is making the car available from €199 per month under the Renault ReFlex Personal Contract Plan.
