Lexus Ireland has announced a recall of some 500 cars to attend to potentially faulty fuel delivery pipes. Lexus IS 250, IS F, GS 450h and LS models manufactured between March 2006 and September 2010 are affected by the recall.

The issue relates to an anti-corrosion material (nickel phosphate plating) that was applied to fuel pipes in the engine bay, but may have contaminated the gasket seal between the pipe and the fuel pressure sensor potentially leading to a fuel leak.

Lexus says that there have been no reports of any accidents or injuries relating to the issue and that the fault was found during field report quality checks.

A representative told CompleteCar.ie: "Lexus Ireland will be writing to affected customers to arrange a time to have their vehicle inspected at a time convenient to them and at no cost. The remedy will take approximately three hours."

"Lexus Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused to our customers and continues to rededicate itself to strengthening its commitment to safety and quality by putting customers first."
