Kia Soul and more for Frankfurt Show

Kia previews new Soul crossover, facelifted Optima and sporty small concept ahead of Frankfurt.

What's the news?
Kia plans to unveil its all-new Soul model at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show. In addition, an urban B-segment concept and upgraded Optima are also set to make their world debuts at the show.

All-new Kia Soul
Kia's new funky city car bares a very strong resemblance to the model it replaces. The refreshed design is a lot smoother than the outgoing model however, inspired by the superb-looking Track'ster concept launched last year. As yet we know very little about the new model; with more information expected to be announced at the car's official unveiling.

B-segment urban concept
To be honest, we're rather looking forward to seeing this one. The teaser shot that was released earlier in the month suggests a rather sporty-looking model; and with Kia's recent history of churning out good looking cars, this one should hopefully be a corker as well. Kia says that the basis for this concept was to give compact car drivers more options and choice when making their purchase; and has been developed with European tastes in mind. Sounds good to us.

Improved Optima
Kia has upgraded the Optima for the new model year. A visual refresh has been made throughout including a new front fog lamp design, revised rear light clusters and the introduction of new alloy wheels. Refinement has also been improved thanks to better sound proofing and stronger alloys; reducing road noise by around 3.3dB. New infotainment options, better safety features and a higher quality finish were also on the agenda; as was engine efficiency. Tweaks under the bonnet bring CO2 levels down to 128g/km.

Anything else?
More information about all these cars will be available during and after Kia's press conference at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The 2013 IAA runs from 10th-24th September.
