Jodie Kidd takes on The Stig

Self confessed petrol-heads forced to put aside natural need for speed to take crown.

Some say that she races Maseratis for fun and once knocked Jay Kay off the top of the Top Gear powerlaps board, but all we know is she is not The Stig. However, she did take on The Stig in a fuel efficiency challenge.

Model, petrolhead and all-round perfect woman, Jodie Kidd, took on former Stig, Ben Collins, in the Big Green Race to find the most fuel efficient driver. The challenge, part of the New Thinker's Index, is an interactive digital experience that aims to challenge the way people think and saw Kidd and Collins putting aside their natural inclination for speed in order to use the least amount of fuel throughout the challenge filled race.

"Whilst it is great to sit behind the wheel and go hell for leather, this challenge needed me to think in a whole new way about driving.  The Big Green Race taught me a lot about fuel efficiency and how to affect it with my driving style, which is definitely knowledge that will be useful day-to-day," commented Kidd after the challenge.

Kidd and Collins joined a host of high profile celebrities who have pitted their wits against the challenges of the New Thinker's Index including land speed record holder Richard Noble OBE, who was challenged to think differently by working with a group of children to see if he could help them increase their speed to win the Belchford Soapbox Challenge race.
