Hottest Peugeot coupe arrives

The high-performance Peugeot RCZ R is now on sale in Ireland from €52,990.

What's new?
Peugeot's 270hp RCZ R coupé has officially gone on sale in Ireland, with prices starting from €52,990. Officially the most powerful road going car ever to bear the Peugeot badge, the RCZ R is more than just a spruced-up RCZ and instead features a host of motorsport derived enhancements.

Most important of these is the turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine, which, thanks to maximum power bring available at 6,000rpm and maximum torque of 330Nm available from just 1,900rpm, enables the RCZ to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 5.9 seconds. Yet despite the obvious performance benefits, CO2 emissions of 145g/km mean the RCZ R resides in tax Band C, meaning annual tax of €390.

Inspired by the Peugeot RCZ Racing Cup track car, the RCZ R rides 10mm lower than the standard coupé, features unique suspension with increased spring rates, improved aerodynamics, wider wheels and, perhaps most importantly to the keener driver, a Torsen limited slip differential to enable the driver to put all 270hp down on the tarmac when exiting a corner.

Standard specification for the RCZ R includes 19-inch alloy wheels, a new fixed rear spoiler, sports seats in leather/Alcantara, dual-zone climate control, Xenon directional headlamps with washers, front and rear parking sensors, satellite navigation, automatic headlamps and wipers, a leather sports steering wheel and gear lever, matt black roof arches and Bluetooth telephony.

Available in four colours (Moroccan Red, Nera Black, Mercury Grey and Opal White), order books for the new Peugeot RCZ R are now open in dealerships across Ireland.
