Fiat launches limited edition

Fiat has revealed a limited edition version of the 500.

Based on a top-spec Lounge model, the new Fiat 500 Collection offers €725 of extra equipment over the 500 on which it is based for a mere €150 premium - it costs from €16,250.

What it brings are, essentially, styling updates. There's just one engine choice, which is the 69hp 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol unit, and you can have the Collection in either white or red, with various details finished in the contrasting colour. So, on the white cars, you get a red dashboard, red key cover, red chrome-finished gearlever, red mirror caps, red side mouldings and larger 16-inch alloy wheels... with red-detail centre caps. Flip all this to white if you prefer a red body.

Lounge models come with an extensive kit list so the Collection is well stocked. Expect seven airbags, remote central locking, electric front windows, heated and electric door mirrors, touchscreen Uconnect Bluetooth-equipped infotainment with six speakers plus Aux-in and USB ports, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, auto start-stop, LED daytime running lights, air conditioning, 50:50 split folding rear seats, a panoramic glass sunroof, rear parking sensors, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, front fog lights and a chrome styling kit. Which is a lot of stuff to fit onto/into a little city car, eh?

With a five-year warranty and five years of roadside assistance, eligible customers can also qualify for Fiat Ireland's €2,500 trade-in bonus if the 500 Collection is purchased before the end of July, with 6.9 per cent PCP finance packages available.
