Not from the kingdom, rather a hurling stronghold in Co. Galway. Craughwell GAA club were delighted to learn that their U8, U10, U12 and U14 teams will be sporting a brand new kit – branded jerseys and a pair of shorts and socks for every player – courtesy of the dealership who nominated them, Tony Burke Motors and Carzone.ie.
Tony Burke Motors is a family owned, award winning Toyota dealership in Ballybrit, Co. Galway, which is well established in the local area with many employees also involved in the Craughwell GAA Club. This long-standing relationship was the basis for the dealership choosing the up and coming under-age teams for the Carzone.ie competition. Tony Burke Motors is also no stranger to success, winning the 2015 Toyota ‘Ichiban’ Award for outstanding customer service amongst all Toyota dealerships in Europe, and treats opportunities to support sport in the local community with the same enthusiasm and assistance that customers expect.
Tony Burke, Dealer Principal, Commented, "This is a great initiative that allows us to get our name out there and support our local sports teams while also promoting Carzone.ie. These are a great bunch of kids and the bright young stars of local sports so we hope the new gear will bring as much of a boost to the teams as it will to Tony Burke Motors."
The club were also keen to express what a tremendous boost the jerseys will be. Kevin Quire the Juvenile Chairman, Coaching officer and U12 manager told us that the club has over 200 juvenile members.
"With a lot of development and financial support needed for the club, new kit unfortunately falls down the priority list. These lads have been wearing a set of jerseys bought over nine years ago and it's hard on the rising stars of a successful hurling club who have to wear worn and odd gear. Many mentors have bought new cars from Tony Burke Motors and Craughwell GAA looks forward to continuing to support them, as they do for us and our U8, U10, U12 and U14 teams."
The competition is ongoing and we at Carzone.ie are calling on car dealers nationwide to nominate their local sports team of choice. This sponsorship initiative will see a number of sports clubs receive their very own branded kit courtesy of their local car dealership over the next few months, giving car dealerships the opportunity to support their local community.
