Audi Ireland Launches Innovative Augmented Reality Experience

The AR technology allows customers to explore the features of the new Audi A7 in holographic form using Microsoft HoloLens

Audi Ireland has launched an innovative new Augmented Reality (AR) consumer experience in Ireland. The AR technology allows customers to explore the features of the new Audi A7 in holographic form using Microsoft HoloLens, the world’s first self-contained holographic computer. The AR experience is a world first and is available at three Audi pilot dealerships across Ireland; Audi Centre, Audi North Dublin and Audi Galway.

Audi Ireland partnered with Irish experiential technology agency, VStream to launch the AR experience, and it allows consumers to interact with holographical digital content that augments on the latest Audi models. Currently it is available to use with the newly-launched A7, however it will also be expanded to the forthcoming new Audi A6 and Q8 models. After putting the HaloLens computer on, customers are treated to a holographic exterior design, interior and technology tour of the A7 with guidance from Simone, a holographic character. The tour takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and it is hugely immersive, while Audi Ireland says it represents a global first in the automotive retail industry.

Speaking at the launch of the AR Experience, Audi Ireland’s Richard Molloy said “For us, it represents the next step in the evolution of one of our core objectives - to become the leading customer experience brand. We are encouraging Audi fans and customers to call into our Dealers and check out the state of the art technology experience for themselves.” Carzone visited Audi Centre in Sandyford to experience the technology first hand and we left hugely impressed. Check it out for your self at Audi Centre in Sandyford, Audi North Dublin or Audi Galway now.
