
With all the talk about diesel dieing out,is it worth considering buyiny a good second 171 diesel mondeo, i want to buy that ill have for at least 10 years,thanks

It’s not made explicitly clear by some media, but the hysteria around ‘dirty diesels’ tends to refer to Euro 4-compliant models and older, which are the worse-polluting machines. A 2017 Mondeo is Euro 6-compliant and so it shouldn’t get hammered by any imminent forthcoming emissions legislation, although we cannot vouch for it for another ten years – by that time, we could be on Euro 8 regs or higher, which would mean Euro 6 cars would be considered dirty, too.
