Wondering about timing chains...
Hello, I have a hyhundai i30 15plate, miles above 97000 at the moment. But want to ask yes I know timing chain do last engine life and don't really need replacing. But just to keep on safe side what do u advise.. are timing chains better then belts

Timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine, yes, and are usually only ever replaced if there is an issue with them or their tensioners. Ensure you replace the engine oil and filter as per Hyundai's schedule, and use good-quality oil.
Chains are better than belts in that regard - i.e. belts have scheduled replacement - but I wouldn't say one is better than the other as simply as that.
