It’s not a bad idea at all – if you avoid the base-spec, non-turbo model that is sometimes offered (or might have come in as an import). The T-GDi turbo versions are far nicer to drive and, unless you’re doing more than 20,000km per annum, they’re decent enough on fuel to make them sensible to run. Plus, even a 181 example of the Tucson will still have almost four years of manufacturer warranty to run.
