With €10k what first car should I buy?
Hi, Im thinking of buying my own first car (currently using a family car) but i have no clue what to go for. I drive to work everyday which takes approx 1 hour eachway therefore i would prefer to have a diesel car. I have a budget of 10 grand and want a car 2008 and older. What types should I investigate? Thanks

Hi Aoife,
First of all, good news - €10k is a hell of a good budget for a first car and the world is pretty much your oyster. Personally I wouldn't look past a Honda Civic 2.2 CDTi diesel. Smooth and powerful and really nice to drive, but hugely economical too. Endlessly reliable as well, which will keep running costs under control. Buy one now and you'll still be driving it in ten years' time if you look after it.
