Hi there I’m planning to return to Ireland from Australia over the next 6 months and considering shipping my 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero sport. However, I’m unsure if the car will retain any resale value given the model isn’t currently sold in Ireland. Can you advise on the likelihood of resale in a few years time? Or is shipping it back best avoided?
Hi CJ,
You’ll be able to sell it in a few years’ time, no problem, as there’s a strong market for used imports here (normally UK cars but an Aussie one wouldn’t be a major issue, as it’s also right-hand drive). As to what it’ll be worth, we couldn’t say, but 2016 full-sized Pajeros are about €28,000 over here so you should be able to get €20,000-plus for your Pajero Sport in a year or so’s time. If you’ve run the numbers on bringing it back and you can make them work, and you love your Pajero Sport enough to go through the importation route, then by all means do it.
