Looking to buy new car was thinking of Audi A5 but then got looking at the A7 and kind of like it . Was wondering is it worth springing an extra 25 to 30 k to get A7 or is the A5 more value for the money or can you advise another car . Thanks
Hi Shane,
It’s s tough one actually – the A5 is a really nice car, good to drive, well made and just the right side of practical. Get it with there 2.0 TDI engine and it shouldn’t cost any more to run day-to-day than a more everyday A4. But… But the A7 is a special car – really gorgeous, fabulous interior, great performance (and surprising economy) from the 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine. It’s not quite as rewarding to drive as it should be but its other attributes allow you to overlook that. Why not split the difference? Get a year old A7 on an approved used programme. It’ll be darned near as good as new and the price gap will be significantly smaller.
