Hi I have a 2002 Opel Astra G 1.6 CDE 16V with 320000 km o on clock and I have just had top gasket done and also replaced the oil and compression rings but every now and then when I start the car or pull away from stop street the car gives of a white smoke and then disappear again. This only happens once or twice a day but mostly when I start the car. What could this be as valve stem Seals has been replaced.
Hi Nathan,
White smoke in a diesel can mean a number of things, including poor quality fuel, a clogged fuel filter, problems with the injectors or the intake system. I suggest you bring the car back to the garage that did all the work and get them to look at it closely for you.
