Why the difference in tax for the A6?
Hi I am looking at buying a 08/09 Audi A6 S Line and am wondering why the tax is more expensive than 280efor other cars of same engine size and spec (2.0l diesel)

Hi Ian,
For the very simple reason that, in 2008 and 2009, the A6 2.0 TDI had higher CO2 emissions than some competitors (159g/km for the 2.0 TDI with manual gearbox, or 175g/km with the Multitronic auto) – that pushes up the cost of tax. Later version rectified that with lower emissions.
