Why is the brake light on in my Almera?

i changed the front brake pads on my 2002 1.5 nissan almera petrol and bled the brakes when finished the brake light on the dash has been on since i checked the brake fluid and its ok wat could it be

Our answer:

Hi John,

It could be a couple of things. First thing to check is that you reconnected the wires to the top of the brake fluid reservoir after topping it up. If they're in place, then I wonder does your car have brake pad wear indicators. Again, there should have been wires in the new brake pads to connect up if that was the case.

Hopefully one of those things sorts it out.
