Hi I have a 1.4 automatic skoda fabia 16V I have a good mechanic on the job but I’m just sizing up the situation every time I rev the car and take my foot off the peddle the engine finds it very hard to settle or in other words it finds it hard to tic over sometimes it even cuts out the coil packs are all ok and I recently fitted a MAP sensor because the engine management light appeared and diagnostics showed up that fault. So I’m puzzled about what to do next
Hi Barry,
There is a known issue with the first-gen Fabia 1.4 16-valve engine where a failed timing belt tensioner can cause issues with idling. Sounds like a good match for your problem.
