Why has my ix20's belt loosened?
I have a 2011 Hyundai IX 20 that has 100000 kilometres. The timing belt has loosened should and why does this happen.

That's very unusual, unless it happened soon after work was done on that area of the engine of course, which then points to a mistake made by the garage that did the work. Other than that, I guess it's possible that the belt tensioner failed, but it's not a common failure on that car that we know of.
