That generation of Polo was available from the factory with wheels of up to 18 inches in diameter. However, you need to be very careful to match the tyres so that your overall diameter of tyre and wheel is the same as it was originally. A good tyre-fitter will know about that and advise you. Be aware that this is likely to lead to a less comfortable car, and also one that's less fuel efficient.
