I want to buy a car made by Toyota and preferably assembled in Japan. I am 73 years old and need a dependable car that doesn’t need constant repairs. I don’t need a car with many gadgets which cost more if repairs are needed. Which model would you recommend? I was looking at the Corolla hatchback as a possibility, but open to other models at a good price ….not rich. Thanking you in advance. Helene
Hi Helene,
Many Toyotas are not assembled in Japan, but I wouldn't worry unduly about that, as the same standards are applied at their foreign factories, and in general they are robust and reliable cars.
You've not mentioned your budget, which is a key aspect of this, so come back to us with that if you want less vague advice.
The Corolla hatchback is a good car and usually very dependable.
