Hello, I need to upgrade my current vehicle which is a 2007 Hyundai Sante Fe. I complete some occasional towing with horsebox. I commute 900km per week motorway driving. I'm considering a smaller 1.6 -2L diesel small SUV about 3 years old. Budget approx 15-20 k. Have you got any advice?
Hi Grace,
Well, if you’re saying the SUV in question has to tow your horsebox from time to time, we’re wondering if a 1.6- to 2.0-litre model is going to be enough. You need the bigger, more powerful turbodiesels to tow with, ideally. Have a look at the SsangYong Rexton – used examples are rare but available and in your budget, and it’ll tow a horsebox with ease while being decent on the motorway, too. You might need to look at a UK import if you’re struggling with Irish cars.
