Which TDI engine in the Octavia?
Hi I was going to buy a 2017 Octavia and was wondering what size engine the 2.0 150bhp or the 1.6 115bhp diesel engines would you suggest. There seems to be very little in price

Hi Gavin,
Unless you’re absolutely CO2-conscious and want to save a handful of Euros on annual road tax, the 150hp TDI Octavia is the superior car. It’ll be nicer in town, it’ll be much better on open country roads and it’ll also have meaningful torque on the motorway, where it will probably deliver fuel economy as good as, if not better, than the 1.6 TDI, because it’s not working as hard to maintain pace.
