Well, the SUV world is kind of your oyster, really. Providing you don’t mind higher mileages and slightly older vehicles (but not much more than eight years old, at most), vehicles like the Hyundai Santa Fe and ix35, the Dacia Duster, the Volkswagen Tiguan, the Kia Sportage, the Opel Mokka, the Toyota RAV4 and the Volvo XC60 will all be in your budget. If you need four-wheel drive, though, not all of these will be fitted with it, but the Santa Fe usually is and it’s a common feature on the Duster, which seems like an ideal purchase for you – as it was a budget machine in the first place, for €12,000 you should get a much newer Duster 4x4 (between one and three years old) that will be a reliable workhorse.
