Which SUV or MPV would suit us?

Hi, we are looking to trade in our 2012 Peugeot 5008, we have 3. Kids, aged 1, 6 and 8 and we are looking for a 7 seater. We would use 6th & 7th seat occasionally. I certainly prefer SUV however I worry I would regret it due to space. Our budget is 20k plus trade in of the Peugeot. I've looked at Hyundai Santa Fe & Kia Sorrento. We like taking off at weekends with bikes & buggy so need large boot space. Could you advise please on which SUV or MPV would be most suitable

Hi Andrea,

First things first — if you’re keen on getting a new car, that’s fine, but it’s worth remembering that keeping an older car running is almost always a more affordable way to do things, and as your 5008 already is a seven-seater, you don’t really need to change up.

If you still want to, though, I’d recommend going Peugeot again. The new 5008, now an SUV, has lots of room including three individual seats in the back, which means you should be able to fit in all three kids and keep the third row seats folded down for maximum boot space. It’ll be cheaper to run than the larger, heavier Kia or Hyundai, and your €20k budget plus the likely trade-in on your old 5008 should put you into a well-equipped Access or Active model with the excellent 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine.
