I want to change my 2010 ford focus hatchback 1.6 L TDI to a slightly newer focus or other car of similar size but with perhaps a bigger boot. My budget is €12500. Current milage on my focus is 129K . Not sure what type of car I should go for. I ve had the focus for 7 years so am happy witha focus but find the boot space limited. I was wondering about a Ford C max or a crossover type car such as the Hyundai IX 35 but dont know much about either.
Hi Fiona,
You’re right to consider crossover-SUVs and MPVs for added boot space, and in many ways the C-Max makes a great deal of sense because it’ll feel very familiar to drive after your Focus – and it has 432 litres of boot space, compared to 316 litres in the Focus. However, the ix35 is bigger again, packing a huge 591 litres – and it’s not a huge vehicle to drive. We’d suggest you try the Hyundai and see if it suits your needs in term of its driving manners, as it would be a sound vehicle to upgrade to from your Ford.
