In terms of driving pleasure, the Cooper is sweeter than the Cooper D, so that’s a win for petrol. In terms of running costs, the Cooper D hits back but that all depends on whether you’re going to do more than say 20,000km per annum in the MINI – if yes, then go for the Cooper D. Otherwise, we’d recommend the petrol model.
