Which large family car to go for?

I would like to buy a car/MPV/SUV to accommodate 3 adults and two children under the age of three. Also on not so many occasions a fourth adult. My budget is 15000-20000 with my Jetta 2011 1.6 diesel 112000 Kms to trade in. My milage I'm hoping will be 20000kms a year. I drive 130 Kms a day mostly motorway to work everyday in this car so I want fuel economy and safety. working 5 days but want to reduce to three. What make/models should I be looking at. Many thanks

Hi Patricia,

I think your best bet is an MPV as it sounds like you need a good deal of seating flexibility. I think that you’ll get around €5-6,000 as a trade in for your Jetta, giving you a budget of around €20-25,000. That should put you nicely into a Ford S-Max, which is both roomy, flexible and still good to drive. You could go a bit smaller - VW Touran, Peugeot 5008, Renault Scenic etc, but then I think you’d be into too many compromises with the third row seat space.
