I reckon the XC60 is going to be the best value overall. The new X1 is a lovely car, but it’s still quite small, whereas the XC60 competes with larger cars such as the X3 and the Audi Q5. Likewise the Evoque, which is a great car (and arguably the best of the three to drive), but which doesn’t have the interior or boot space of the Volvo. Just one word of advice – get an automatic XC60; the driving position never feels quite right with a manual.
