Which is the best new petrol estate car on the market?

Our answer:

Hi Kevin,

Well, there’s a few around. Starting small, there’s the new Skoda Fabia 1.2 TSI petrol Combi. Massive 500-litre boot, sweet little turbo engine up front and really comfy and well made. Need something a bit bigger? Check out the just-revised Ford Focus Wagon with the brilliant 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo three-cylinder engine: 100hp, 40mpg and a lovely little raspy exhaust noise too. Great to drive and the quality has just been improved too.

Bigger again? Well, sticking with Ford there’s the all-new Mondeo Estate with the four-cylinder 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol turbo or the equally new (and it actually really is new) Volkswagen Passat Estate – Volkswagen has noticed to trend back towards petrol engines and has brought back the 1.4-litre 120hp petrol turbo TSI engine as well.

Bigger again again? Well, there’s the Audi RS 6 Avant, but that’s really in Lotto win territory…
