Definitely the Sportage. Until the brand new Sorento came along (this year) the Sorento has always been a bit too clunky and old-fashioned, not to mention expensive to run. 

The Sportage is much more sophisticated, smooth to drive, good looking and with a really classy cabin. No major mechanical maladies to speak of and if you buy a fairly recent one there'll still be lots of that seven-year warranty left. Lots out there to choose from so be picky.
