Hi just wondering which 5 seater suv would ye recommend for traveling on country rds , and would ye go diesel or petrol with all this talk of diesel tax band ? Traveling around 20,000 miles a year . . Just found diesel heavy on Tyres thanks in advance .
Hi Anne Marie,
At 20,000km a year, you’re just on the cusp of diesel making sense for you, from a financial point of view, but there are a few options. I think the best car to look at might be the Toyota C-HR Hybrid, which brings with it a good mix of reliability, a bit of extra ground clearance for rough roads and very good fuel economy and emissions (and one eye on the future, when it comes to the tax system). Well worth looking at a Skoda Yeti too — a bit of searching should find you one with the excellent 1.2 TSI petrol turbo engine, which is almost as economical as the diesel.
